use of turmeric 

Adding black pepper and coconut oil increases the bioavailibility of the active ingredient in turmeric, meaning it helps with the assimilation of turmeric into your body.  

Turmeric Shot

INGREDIENTS
  • One-two hand of fresh turmeric (enough to fit a shot glass when juiced)
  • One sprinke of black pepper
  • 1 tea spoon coconut oil
DIRECTIONS
Add your turmeric in a juicer, fill a shot glass, add the black pepper and coconut oil and enjoy!!!

Golden milk

Ingredients
  • 2 cups of milk of choice (almond, pecan, coconut or dairy) 
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 3-5 tsp of fresh turmeric (cut it fine or use a food processor) 
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • 1 tsp honey to taste (optional)
Directions
​Heat all ingredients (except honey) in a saucepan, stir well. Bring to a simmer and simmer covered for 10 minutes. Strain or french press and sweeten to taste (if desired).

                                   ​Turmeric & Blueberries
​Ingredients:
  • 1-2 fingers of fresh turmeric 
  • 1/3 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup plain natural yogurt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 Tablespoon honey or use yogurt with honey 
  • 1/2 cup frozen berries
  • 1/4 avocado
  • Pinch of black pepper


Instructions

Place all the ingredients in a blender and mix for 10-30 seconds. Add more honey if you like your smoothie sweeter

                           Green Turmeric
​Ingredients:
  • 1-2 fingers of fresh turmeric 
  • 2 cups fresh kale
  • 2 cups milk of your choice
  • 2 cups pineapple
  • 1 cup mango or 1 banana
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh ginger
  • 1 finger of fresh turmeric or 1 teaspoon of turmeric paste (recipe above)
  • Pinch of black pepper
Instructions
Blend kale and milk until smooth; add remaining ingredients, and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

"The lee boyles frappuccino"

Ingredients
  • 1 finger of turmeric
  • 2 drops of pure vanilla
  • 1  cup almond milk
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 tea spoon of local raw honey
  • Ice
  • Coconut whipped cream for topping
Directions:
  1. In a blender, combine the almond milk, turmeric, vanilla, honey and banana. Blend until smooth. 
  2. Add the ice. Blend briefly.
  3. Pour into a glass. Top with coconut whipped cream. Enjoy!
Note: Turmeric may stain blenders and countertops. The color will eventually fade, but making a thick paste of baking soda and water and scrubbing the stain can help.
